Contego Tech Solutions
Contego Software works with our sister company Contego Tech Solutions for IT solutions, when required. This creates a single point of contact for creating complete IT solutions and system integration
Contego Tech Solutions Inc. was formed in 2006 as a merger of two IT Support companies each with over 10 years of history. Since that time Contego has grown to a team of over 20. We complement our team with some part-time and contracted specialists for unique requirements, large projects or work outside Alberta when the need arises.
In 2018, Contego expanded again when it merged with SSL Solutions Inc., a full service ERP solutions provider that was founded in 2005 and sold and supported Acumatica, MS Dynamics Suite and Deltek ERP solutions across North America. For many years Contego and SSL had worked collaboratively with numerous clients and the resulting synergy from solving client needs just made sense to join forces and expand the solution set that we can offer to our clients. Our clients benefit when we provide both ERP and IT solutions because problems are solved quickly, efficiently with little disruption and finger-pointing.
From our downtown Calgary office location, we combine remote service capabilities and a mobile workforce to offer immediate support for customers that have branch offices across Canada and the world.
Our development team has written several add-on and stand-alone products to meet client needs for better system integration or just more efficient processes to streamline their businesses enhancing their bottom line. These solutions function on both connected devices as well as mobile devices.
Our Customers
The customer base we serve is diverse, spanning many industries. Being in Calgary we have a significant number of oilfield related clients including petroleum producers, geology & geophysics exploration, oilfield services, supply and manufacturing. These companies have a high value mobile workforce as well as regulatory compliance mandates to follow; supporting these users challenges us to offer leading edge infrastructure and support while maintaining best practices for security and reliability.
Other industries we support include retail, service, restaurant, media, travel, accounting, education, property management, HVAC and electrical contractors. Each of these industries presents their own set of challenges.
Many of our customers have their own in-house IT resources in some capacity; we supplement these in-house resources by filling in gaps in their service capability, vacation and disaster recovery coverage, systems design and project management. We work cooperatively with internal and external resources, either as the managing lead or the technical resource using multi-vendor teamwork to provide the best possible experience for users and management.

Contego Executives
Kevin Esau – President
Kevin has been developing and supporting accounting solutions since 1990, a perfect fit that brought together his accounting background and IT training in accounting. From business process documentation to custom application design, he brings Chief Information Officer expertise to our clients. He supports our clients to make their businesses run more efficiently using improved business processes and optimizing the use of technology.
Kevin has been involved with the computer industry all of his life. His first development project was a music application that was sold to the school board where he attended. Kevin has combined his love of computers with a business/accounting education. This allows him to understand the business needs and how the information must be integrated into Enterprise Resource Management systems. Kevin has worked for many large organizations and the projects have taken him to numerous countries on this side of the globe. Kevin has enjoyed building the Contego team from the ground up.
Scott Michael – Vice President Business Solutions
Scott is a Senior Manager with over 28 years of experience in the Information Technology industry. He has designed, developed, and implemented business-critical systems across a wide range of industries and platforms. In the mid 90’s Scott was involved in the management of the implementation and roll out of SAP along with a new communication and document management system for a large international transportation company. This experience led him to advance his skills in ERP Software Solutions and extending their functionality and develop integrations with external systems.
Scott was one of the founding partners in SSL Solutions Inc. in 2005 and was instrumental in bringing SSL into the Contego Group in 2018. Over the course of his career, Scott has created a name for himself as an expert problem solver and has a reputation for delivering client-focused service that provides quality results.
Arnold Janzen – Vice President
Arnold started his IT career as a mainframe programmer, analyst and DBA. Soon after he became involved with geographic information system (GIS) projects. He saw the tremendous benefit in visualizing spatially connected data. Using these concepts he partnered with a small team to develop and bring to market a GIS-enabled seismic data management system which is still a thriving product across North America. Arnold’s specialty has been data analysis, migration and integration. He has also helped clients gain the full value from their data to make informed business decisions. Arnold has been a driver behind our tablet and smartphone projects. A specialty of Arnold’s is to envision, design, build and bring to market, software products that are beneficial to our customers.
As part of the management team, Arnold enjoys building the Contego team and brand to meet the ever-changing business needs of our diverse range of customers who rely on us to help them adapt to an evolving and fluid business environment.
